Friday Fragments?

Also once again I am very late in the evening posting this. As a matter of fact, if I don't hurry this will be "Saturday Fragments" and that is not near as clever or catchy a title.

***I hit 100 posts this week. That made me smile, but I feel so inadequate since I did not notice it coming up so fast and had nothing prepared. I should have had some cute, clever, or at the least celebratory post to share. I didn't though.

***I had lunch with my best friend from high school this week. After high school, we kind of drifted apart, and at one point went as long as 6 years with no direct contact. We got in touch again last fall and were able to get together at Christmas. When we met this time, we both had kiddos in tow, so we opted to meet at the mall food court so everyone could eat something they wanted (and quite frankly, the thought of eating another fast food burger made me want to fast). It was kind of funny, because after lunch we walked around the mall, just like we did fifteen years ago. Only this time, we were both pushing strollers. Oh, and her husband must have called her 3 times. ;)

***I got the most beautiful surprise today! My sweet husband sent me flowers!! He has been having a rough week, and we were both lamenting the fact that we work through things much better as a team. Pretty cool that HE has a bad week and I get flowers huh? I love that Man o Mine!

***My brother in law and sister in law closed on their house this week. Very exciting times for their little family. The house is so cute, an older home that has been pretty well kept. Father in law is working on painting the kitchen walls a bright lemony yellow and the cabinets and dining room wainscoting white. I helped clean some this week and place contact paper in drawers. Looking forward to helping them unpack next week!

***Speaking of the in laws, my little nephew's first birthday party is tomorrow! WHERE has this last year gone? Wow!

***Madsen Cycles is giving away a couple of really neat "Mommy" bikes (or Daddy bikes, whoever happens to ride them!). Check out MADSEN Cargo Bikes or the button over there for more info! ----->

***This week the Princess informed me that she does not like me when Nana is here, but does like me if Nana is not here. I tried not to let that bother me, she is three after all. After the second time she told me this, I couldn't let it go. I asked her what she would think if I told her I didn't like her when I was holding Boom. I think that sunk in. Tonight, she wanted to "Nuggle" with me in my bed instead of sit with Nana for the reading of a story. I think we both needed that.

***Speaking of the kiddos (and the Princess in particular), we were being silly the other day. I told the kiddo all I loved them. Then we got silly, with things such as "I love you more than Legos", "I love you more than chicken nuggets" and so on. Well Princess LOVES pennies. So I told her "I love you more than pennies". She apparently didn't hear me to well because her response was "more than PANTIES?". She seemed quite surprised too. Yes Princess, Mommy does love you more than panties.

and on that note, I believe it is time for bed! Have a great weekend!

Very funny!

I love the way you handled the Princess's comment about not liking you when Nana is there. Great thinking.

Sounds like you have a nice, close family and husband who cherishes you. I'm happy for you.

Congrats on 100 posts!!

I also drifted with my besties since high school. We keep in touch through email, facebook, and myspace, but have not seen one another in years and years.

That is sweet that your hubby gave you flowers. :o)
