First Friday Fragments of February!
Friday has come around once again! Time to join Mrs4444 for some Friday Fragments! Please check out the other Fragmenters and feel free to link up!
***BRRRRR, Baby its COLD outside! I know, I know, I had it coming. I've been taunting all my Northern friends with pictures and comments about 70 degree days. Well this week I have gotten my just desserts. (Can I please just have dessert next time?). An "Arctic Blast" blew in Monday night and oh.my.goodness. did it blow in! I nearly rounded the family up and put them in our "safe place" for tornadoes, because it sounded like a train coming through! This was followed by sleet beating on the windows, the entire contents of our patio being blown all over the yard, and then thunder and lightning! Then Thursday night we got snow! We have not seen above freezing temps yet. That is "supposed" to happen tomorrow. I sure am hoping!
***Believe it or not, this was taken on Saturday. It was 75 and sunny. Before y'all go yelling at me for letting them get in, I told them the water was too cold, but they begged and pleaded and I finally said they could wade in and come right back out.
***This picture was taken Friday morning (this morning, only a week later!)
***Phil the Groundhog predicted an early Spring this year, but he was beaten to the punch! I found this article from the Beaufort Gazette this week. I knew us Carolinians were on top of things!
BEAUFORT, S.C. — Both Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania and Gen. Beauregard Lee in Georgia are predicting an early spring, but a bird in South Carolina beat them with the forecast.
The famous groundhogs made their predictions Wednesday, but The Beaufort Gazette reports the first painted bunting was sighted on Hilton Head Island on Sunday.
The bird is considered a harbinger of spring on the lower South Carolina coast. It was seen by 80-year-old Joyce Geiger of Hilton Head. The bird has a royal-blue head, bright-red breast and lime-green back.
The birds winter in Florida and Central America and sometimes spend their summers along the South Carolina coast. Seeing one in early February is considered a sign of an early spring.
***Why would someone feel the need to LIE to win a contest? Especially if that lie was something that would be confirmed before a winner would be announced? I just don't get it. Oh well, you know who you are, and if you can live with yourself, that is your problem. I do know that cheaters do not win, at least not my contests!
***I have to share this funny pic that a friend of mine shared on Facebook the other day. She lives up in the frigid Northeast:
***Overheard conversations this week: Boom "Daddy, are rabbits good guys or bad guys?" Man O Mine, "That depends bud. If they are just hopping around being cute they are good guys. If they are eating your garden they are evil minions straight from the pits of Hades."
***The other night Man O Mine was teasing me about doing crunches. He told Princess she needed to learn how to do crunches with me. She said "Daddy, I KNOW how to do crunches. You put some food in your mouth and CRUNCH down on it." I like her version better!
Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend! If we warm up and I can get outta this house I know I will!

Ha! I like her 'crunches' too!
I'm cracking up about the rabbits.
I like her crunches better too! What a crazy season even for me in Phila. It is not that we are not used to snow; we are used to lots of snow once or twice and then done. These storms this year are just one annoyance after another. I love the contrast in your photo's.
Stop over and check out my 3 foot icicles.
