Friday Fragments 2/11/11

Mommy's Idea

Friday has come around once again! Time to join Mrs4444 for some Friday Fragments! Please check out the other Fragmenters and feel free to link up!

***Wow.  This week has been insane. Crazy. It won't get any more relaxed until Sunday afternoon. I told Man O Mine that my plan for Sunday afternoon is to drink  heavily and read "The Devil Wears Prada" which I picked up from a used book sale earlier this week. Now don't go freaking out on me, I probably won't drink heavily, but a nice glass of wine will quite likely be consumed.

***I took Princess to the doctor for her 5 year check up this week. Her doc says she is a "Perfect, Very Pretty, and Petite Little Girl." He is such a charmer! She normally is quite apprehensive around strangers, but we are noticing she is starting to become more outgoing as she is growing up. She chattered away at him while he checked her over. She is in great health, and most certainly petite! She is in the 5th percentile for height and even lower than that for weight. I keep telling  y'all I have a very skinny Minnie, and now I have documented proof.

***I apparently decided I did not have quite enough on my plate for this week, so I decided to end my over a year long vacation from ebay and jump back in. I joined ebay way back in 1999 when it was still fresh and new. I've been buying and selling ever since. Around the time Man O Mine deployed, I decided I'd had enough selling, it was too much to keep up with. So for the last year and a half to 2 years (not sure exactly!) I have not sold a thing, and bought very little. Last week I listed some things, and would you believe it, they sold! Some for very little, and some for pretty good. I tried to be the good little seller and get everything packaged up and shipped out quickly, on the first day I could ship them, Monday. I got in too big of a hurry. I mixed up the labels on two of the packages. I heard from one buyer very quickly, and thankfully buyer is very kind and understanding. The other I have not yet heard a peep from, even though I emailed them and I know the package was delivered. Waiting and watching!

***We have a date! For anyone that doesn't already know it, we are getting ready to PCS. We are actually about to do more than that, but are still waiting on one more signature on one more paper before I am comfortable putting that out there. We do know that we are moving back to SC, and should be leaving TX around June 8. We are excited and apprehensive all at once. I am cleaning out, plotting, planning, and all of that sort. Our families are thrilled at the idea of having us back "home" for a season, and we are excited to be there.

***I am SO proud of my Brother-in-Law. He is a brilliant chef. He went to one of those really expensive schools where he honed his already wonderful skills with food. Seriously, the boy has talent. He cooked a meal for me back when he was about 16 that was better than I could go out and pay for somewhere. When he graduated he got a job at a fantastic place in downtown Greenville and was promoted to Sous Chef fairly quickly. The parent company of that place has decided to open a new place, "The Nose Dive". Brother-in-law is going to be the Chef de Cuisine! I am so excited for him. I also can not wait to get to town and try everything on the menu! If you are ever in downtown Greenville, SC, stop in, they are open for lunch and dinner. Click the pic for the menu!

***This week our fearless DenLeader, Joe, had surgery. This was unexpected, and he is recovering nicely, but keep him in your thoughts. I'll also ask that you keep me in your thoughts. See, this weekend is a BIG event for our Cub Scouts, the Blue and Gold Banquet. Joe was going to be heading it up for our den, and it was his job to decorate our tables, plan the skit for the boys to perform, that sort of thing. Well with his surgery, guess what? I'm doing it. I had 3 days warning. So I am going to do the best I can! Our table will NOT be winning best table decor, but hopefully the boys will have fun, and that is what it is all about. Our Scouts have worked hard this year and this event is all about THEM.

***While I am on that thought...one of the kindest, most caring women I have met here in TX was through Scouting. She is just one of the dearest ladies, and her husband and son are just as sweet. I am not sure of all the details, but her husband is VERY ill right now, and in need of your prayers. So if you could lift up Mr. Wilson, I would greatly appreciate it.

Y'all have a pleasant weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Hey, there! So... I answered my own question about where you're going next... I couldn't remember exactly where in the South you're from, hence the question... ;) I'm very excited for you that you get to live close to family again for awhile! That's great news! Please keep me posted on your "other news..." ;) Can't wait to hear!
