Rants and Raves Wednesday--Groundhog Day!

I noticed this morning that Mrs4444 was doing "Rants and Raves Wednesday. LOVE the idea, so I am snagging it. She got it from some other blogger, but said blogger seems to be no longer doing it, so I'll share Mrs4444's button with y'all in case you want to go read hers...she does some McNugget ranting and raving today!
Half-Past Kissin' Time

Rave: Phil has predicted an early Spring! Now looking at the temps across most of the country today it looks nothing like Spring, but I am all for positive thinking! Go Phil!

Rant: I am cold. REALLY cold. Now I know all you northern folks are probably laughing at me by now, after all, I do at least have 2 digits on the thermometer. However, those two digits are below freezing and I am a Southern Gal. As a matter of fact, as of right now, I don't see above freezing (even in the daily highs) until the weekend. In a house built to stay cool in 3 digit Summer temps, that is NOT GOOD. Stone floors and high ceilings combined with record low temps makes for a record high power bill. I can feel my wallet shrinking now.

Rave: A couple of weeks ago I started "meal planning" again. I don't assign a meal to each day, I simply make a list of available meals and put it on the freezer, marking them off as we use them. A few of those meals I made large, and froze half. So last night, all I had to do was defrost and reheat, and we enjoyed some fabulous homemade chili. It was perfect for supper on a cold Winter's night! The planning has cut down on my grocery costs as well.

Rant: I have to go to the grocery today. The high temp for today is supposed to be around 20.

Okay, so that was not a fabulously interesting list of Rants and Raves, sorry. I have a lot to do today so I need to get moving. Thanks for popping by!

we won't chuckle too hard.. actually layni was teasing me pretty hard when she was here. i had the kids put on their gloves in the 30* weather and at 30* in MN they hardly bother with a coat.

yay for meal planning working!! woohoo on getting a bill lowered. with utilities being rediculous here, i feel like it's the only thing i CAN fenaggle lower :-(
